Dr. Lewis was raised in Richmond, Virginia and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia. He experienced, through his father, the fulfilling qualities of being a physician.
Dr. Lewis was originally interested in general surgery and gravitated toward plastic surgery because it inspires an "incredible blend of science and intuition that allows the surgeon to become an artist." He enjoys all facets of plastic surgery from different types of reconstruction to cosmetic. Each aspect has its own rewards. "Each patient has different goals and expectations. The challenge of meeting these individual goals is very rewarding."
Dr. Lewis lives in Newport News with his wife, Jami, and twin daughters, Madeline and Emma. Jami is a nurse anesthetist at Riverside Hospital. The family enjoys many outdoor activities together, such as sailing and skiing.
